JUDICIAL EXCELLENCE

$10.00

The book Judicial Excellence is written in honor of a distinguished judge who embodies the highest ideals of the judiciary. Known for her sharp perception, extraordinary work ethic, courteous demeanor, and steady temperament, she exemplifies honesty, integrity, diligence, wisdom, and courage. The book’s sixteen chapters span various areas of law, reflecting her broad experience as a judge who addressed all cases that came before her. While the approach is largely conventional and Anglocentric, it incorporates relevant Commonwealth and American legal authorities.

Description

The judge in whose honour this book is written is without doubt a symbol of excellence and the very epitomé of who a Judge should be. She is a woman of great quickness of perception and exceptional power of work, coupled with a courteous manner and remarkably placid temper. She has all the qualities: honesty, probity, industry and equanimity, wit and wisdom, good knowledge of the law and, above all, courage to do what is right. These are the attributes that influenced the choice of the title of this book: Judicial Excellence.

The book is made up of sixteen chapters which cut across different areas of law. This is deliberately so, because as at Judge the honoree adjudicated on all areas of law: she took the cases as they came. Before going to the chapters, it should be added that the approach in all the chapters has been in large part conventional and Anglocentric, though, as a matter of course, some Commonwealth and, where relevant, American authorities are included.
