Abstract
Measures of academic quality, examination malpractice, academic staff unions and continuous assessment are addressed in this paper Act by which examiners acquire undue advantage in examinations constitute examination malpractice.Learners,Teachers, and Parents,examination officials and school heads are key players., The forms, causes and
effect of examination malpractice are are considered. Ways of combating examination malpractice such as proper equipping of schools,ensuring security of examination materials and use of continuous assessment system by academic staff unions have been discussed. Academic staff unions are required to emphasize the diagnostic or guidance oriented nature of continuous assessment through the setting up of monitoring units at school, community, local government,state and national level. Similar units are also expected to operate in tertiary institutions. Through these,its is hoped that productivity in academic institutions will be enhanced
